The Israel Policy Form held a discussion on U.S. and Israeli policy toward Iran and its nuclear weapons threat. Barbara Slavin talked about U.S. policy in Iran, and the Republican presidential candidates' views on that country. David Menashri spoke of Iran’s nuclear ambitions from a historical perspective, and explained the effects of the program on the Middle East region. Other topics included sanctions, diplomatic solutions, and other options. Panelists answered questions from the audience at the end of program.

At the time of the event, an explosion had occurred the previous day at an Iranian nuclear plant, and on the same day a crowd of Iranians attacked the British Embassy in Tehran in a protest over British sanctions on the Tehran government. close
