Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney spoke at the Iowa State Fair at the Des Moines Register's soap box booth. During a question and answer session with the audience, he was confronted by questioners on saving Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid without any loss of benefits. He again stated that he would not raise taxes and also said that “corporations are people.” He was introduced by Register Politics Editor Carol Hunter. Afterward, he greeted various people attending the fair. close
