Credit rating agency officials testified on the impact on credit rating agencies of oversight imposed upon them in the 2010 financial regulations law. They also answered questions about the possible downgrading of the U.S. government’s credit rating if Congress and President Obama did not make progress in the current debt ceiling and budget deficit reduction debate.
