Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) formally announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president. Some of the issues he discussed included his views on the Federal Reserve, drug policy, the debt ceiling, gun rights, and the role of the U.S. military. Following his speech, he met with supporters outside and later spoke briefly with reporters.
