The Social Security and Medicare fund trustees released their annual report on the fiscal condition of both federal programs. Trustees included Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis. The Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds will exhaust their funds earlier than projected. A major reason, according to the trustees, is due to the recession and slower economic growth.
