Richard Miniter talked about his new book Mastermind: The Many Faces of the 9/11 Architect, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. He contends that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed was the brains behind al Qaeda’s deadliest attacks, including the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the U.S, and personally killed journalist Daniel Pearl. He investigated how he became a terrorist, and detailed his life, including his college career in the United States and his detention at Guantanamo Bay.
Mr. Miniter has worked for the Wall Street Journal, American Spectator, Sunday Times (London), and the Washington Times. His books include Losing bin Laden and Shadow War.
