Authors talked about their books about Los Angeles. Topics included the marketing of the city, privatization, class and racial differences, and other urban issues. They responded to questions from members of the audience. Patt Morrison moderated.

D.J. Waldie, writes for the Los Angeles Times as well as books such as Where We Are Now: Notes from Los Angeles and Holy Land: A Suburban Memoir. Lawrence Culver is the author of The Frontier of Leisure: Southern California and the Shaping of Modern America (Oxford University Press, 2010). Leo Braudy is the author of The Hollywood Sign: Fantasy and Reality of an American Icon (Yale University Press, 2011). William Deverell is the author of A Companion to Los Angeles (Wiley, 2010).
