Former Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Murphy (D-MA) talked about the gender wage gap, asserting that it costs women more than a $1 million over a lifetimes. Topics included strategies for achieving equity in pay. She is the author of Getting Even: Why Women Don’t Get Paid Like Men and What To Do About It. Ms. Murphy interacted with members of the audience, which included students in the University of Massachusetts, Boston, John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies Program for Women in Politics and Public Policy, which co-sponsored the event.

The event “I Want My Million Dollars! Why Everyone Should Care about the Gender Wage Gap” was held in Chancellor’s Conference Room at the University of Massachusetts. close
