House Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Chair Cliff Stearns spoke about ways he would like to change the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) regulatory authority. He co-sponsored a bill recently passed by the House that rejects “net neutrality,” a policy that requires Internet providers to allow content providers equal access to networks. Following Representative Stearns, FCC Chair Julius Genachowski’s chief of staff, representatives from Internet and telecommunications groups, and consumer advocacy organizations talked his remarks. close
