Author and historian Pauline Maier talked about her work and her life and career. She responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology history professor, she has written several text books on the Revolutionary period and four popular books on the era: From Resistance to Revolution: Colonial Radicals and the Development of American Opposition to Britain, 1765-1776 (1972); The Old Revolutionaries: Political Lives in the Age of Samuel Adams (1980); American Scripture: Making the Declaration of Independence (1998); and Ratification: The People Debate the Constitution, 1787-1788 (2010). close
