After welcoming remarks, a panel discussion was held on the life, legacy, and accomplishments of Huey Long. Professor Parent moderated. Huey Long was the 40th governor of Louisiana, from 1928 to 1932. He was also a United States senator from Louisiana, from 1932 to 1935. Huey Long was a powerful and controversial figure in Louisiana politics, and was assassinated September 8, 1935.
