E. Stanly Godbold presented a dual biography of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. In the first of two planned volumes, Mr. Godbold recounted the Carters' childhoods in Plains, Georgia, their courtship and marriage, and their ascendancy to the national political stage. Professor Godbold discussed his book at the Georgia Center for the Book at DeKalb County Public Library in Decatur, Georgia.
