Charles Goodhart of the London School of Economics and Stanford University Professor John Taylor gave summaries of their respective papers on of the role of central banks. Afterward, former White House economic officials Alice Rivlin and Christina Romer responded to the presentations. The panelists also answered questions from members of the audience. Topics included currency exchange rates, interest rates in the 2000's, and governmental response to the financial crisis.
