Financial analyst Meredith Whitney spoke about the financial services industry and the 2008 economic crisis. She is chief executive officer of Meredith Whitney Advisory Group LLC, which provides independent investment research and strategic advisory services for financial companies. In late 2007, she was the first analyst to predict major losses for Citigroup, one of the world’s largest financial services companies. She now makes frequent appearances on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg news programs. Before starting her own firm, Meredith Whitney worked for Wachovia Securities and, most recently, Oppenheimer and Company.
