A discussion was held on Nazi crimes during World War II and the Nuremberg trials. Ken Hechler was a combat historian who interviewed Nazi leaders. Douglas Neckers is a scientist concerned about the involvement of scientists in war. Eli Rosenbaum has been a “Nazi hunter” for thirty years. Topics included concepts of justice, how people become involved in war crimes, and deterrence. Gregory Peterson moderated. They responded to questions from students in the audience.

This was part of the “International Justice Past and Present” session of the Summer Institute for Human Rights & Genocide Studies, where students met people who had lived through significant historical events. This July 21, 2010, session was held at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown, N.Y. close
