Cynthia Kelly talked about the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II, and specifically the dropping of the first atomic bombs that brought about the Japanese surrender. Rarely seen archival footage shot by U.S. Armed Forces cameramen of the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was shown. A video clip of President Truman announcing the first bombing on August 6, 1945, was shown. Photographs were shown with audio from November 1945 of Robert Oppenheimer talking about the Manhattan Project. Ms. Kelly also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. close
