A Government Accountability Office auditor, the Interior Department’s inspector general, the president of Louisiana’s Lafourche Parish, and the executive director of the Project on Government Accountability testified on the problems that existed within the Minerals Management Service (MMS) prior to reorganization, and the effectiveness of the reorganization. They also spoke about the moratorium on deep sea oil drilling imposed by the Obama administration after the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
