Witnesses from faith-based organizations gave their perspectives on U.S. immigration reform and providing a way for immigrants to become legal residents. Among the topics they addressed were immigration as a moral or ethical issue, the effects of reform on the economy, legal paths to citizenship, and amnesty. In their opening remarks, Representatives Smith and King referenced the Bible to support their arguments that comprehensive immigration reform upholds the rule of law. close
