Andrew McCarthy talked from New York City about his book, The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America (Encounter Books, 2010), and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Mr. McCarthy believes the real threat to the U.S. is the forces of Islam. He argues that both the the U.S. government and the American left actively suppress awareness of the jihadist ideology that he claims dictates that they conquer America. He says the Islamist forces have collaborated with the American left to undermine U.S. national security and constitutional democracy.
