Witnesses testified about the response efforts to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill forllowing a catastrophic explosion on the oil rig, Deepwater Horizon. Heads of the Coast Guard and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration spoke about short and long-term impacts of the spill. Following their remarks, members questioned executives about theire personal responsibility and that of their companies, BP and Transocean, in the incident.
