House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer talked about federal budget fiscal responsibility. He also talked about President Obama’s new bipartisan fiscal commission charged with recommending solutions for reducing the federal deficit and the recently enacted PAYGO (Pay-As-You-Go) legislation that requires federal spending or tax cuts to be offset by savings or revenue increases. Following his remarks he responded to audience members' questions, including one from Alice Rivlin, appointed by President Obama tothe bipartisan fiscal commission.
