Jina Moore talked by remote link from the New York City studio about her January 30, 2010, Christian Science Monitor article, “Africa’s Continental Divide,” that examines how the rise in private property in Africa has changed life and politics on the continent, including women’s land rights and statutory land reform. The article also discusses how the rise in private property could help redress the problems of famine and ethnic conflict in Africa. She talked about changes in land use policies, the conflicts between statutory and customary land use policies, and how disastrous conflicts could have been avoided. Ms. Moore responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. close
