Students from The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars talked about politics and government as viewed through their experience in visiting Washington, DC. The students represent one group of the 600-800 college students who come to Washington each year in seminars sponsored by The Washington Center. In addition, The Washington Center sponsors 1500 to 1600 students from around the country in longer term internships in Washington, DC each semester.
The Washington Center is a non-profit organization started in 1975. It's mission includes preparing young people for leadership positions and civic participation.
