Michael Fauntroy, a political commentator and assistant professor of public policy at George Mason University, spoke about his experiences as a writer, political analyst and civil rights proponent. 
He is the author of several books, the most recent in 2008 called “Republicans and the Black Vote.” His columns appear regularly on the Huffington Post as well as his own website, michaelfauntroy.com. He has also been published in The Chicago Defender, TomPaine.com, The Washington Times, The Black Commentator, and others. Mr. Fauntroy is a weekly contributor to “The Cliff Kelley Show” on WVON in Chicago. Prior to his teaching career, he worked as an analyst at the Congressional Research Service. From 1993 to 1996, he worked at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
