Lori Ginzberg talked about her book Elizabeth Cady Stanton: An American Life (Hill and Wang; September 1, 2009). In her book she recounts the life of Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902) an early leader in the women's rights movement. Ms. Cady Stanton assisted in organizing the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York, in 1848 where she presented the Declaration of Sentiments, which asserted that women and men should be treated as equals. Professor Ginzberg talked about the historical importance of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the relevance of the issues she raises. She also responded to questions from members of the audience.
