Archie Brown talked about his book The Rise and Fall of Communism (Ecco; June 9, 2009). In his book the emeritus politics professor at Oxford University presents a history of communism. Mr. Brown explores its early origins, the theories and publications of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, the rise of communist governments and their demise following the Cold War. He responded to questions from members of the audience.

The program "The Fall of the Wall and the Fall of Communism: Why-and Why 1989?" was presented as part of the recognition of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
