John Hope Bryant talked about his book Love Leadership: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World (Jossey-Bass; August 17, 2009). Founder and CEO of Operation HOPE, the nation's first non-profit social investment banking organization, he is also vice chair of the U.S. President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy. He presented his five laws of love-based leadership: loss creates leaders; fear fails; love make money; vulnerability is power; and giving is getting. He discussed his philosophy with Bill George and Andrew Young. Topics included the economic crisis, the future of capitalism, the role of entrepreneurship, the role of government, and views on the Obama administration. They also responded to questions from members of the audience. Professor Roy Bahl moderated.

Ambassador Andrew Young has served as a congressman, U.N. ambassador, mayor of Atlanta and co-chair for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. He is chairman of GoodWorks Inc., and of the Andrew Young Foundation.

Bill George is the author of Seven Lessons for Leading in Crisis (Jossey-Bass; August 24, 2009). He is a professor of management practice at Harvard Business School and is former chairman and CEO of Medtronic.
