Joseph Grano talked about his book You Can't Predict a Hero: From War to Wall Street, Leading in Times of Crisis (Jossey-Bass (September 15, 2009). In his book he focuses on six crises in his life and describes how he overcame major obstacles. Those crises led him to six leadership precepts that he shared at this event. He talked about how the book developed, inspired by his letters to his son. He responded to questions from members of the audience.

Joseph Grano is a decorated veteran and was the first chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Committee. He is also chairman and CEO of Centurion Holdings and former chairman of UBS Financial Services.
