The Center for American Progress held a discussion on “The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Changes Everything.” The report focuses on the changing roles of women in both the home and the workplace. It outlines how government, businesses, faith-based institutions, and society itself still rely on outdated models of who continues to work and who cares for the family.
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis talked about the Obama Administration’s policies on family issues and women’s equality in the workplace, specifically looking at health care reform.
Heather Boushey talked about some of the specifics in the report and the changes in the home and workplace noted in the report.
Following their remarks Secretary Solis and Ms. Boushey responded to questions from audience members.
