Former President George H.W. Bush introduced President Barack Obama at a forum honoring national and local volunteers. President Obama praided Former President Bush for his work to encourage volunteerism and public service, and stressed that Americans would have to come together in a spirit of service to address the nation's challenges.

The forum commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Points of Light Institute, created after President Bush signed the National and Community Service Act of 1990.
