Witnesses testified at an oversight hearing on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Chairman Genachowski outlined plan to make permanent network neutrality rules that would prevent telecommunication providers from restricting or channeling access to certain Internet sites and prevent discrimination against the type of data flowing through the networks, such as free Internet phone services or file-sharing technology for movies.
