Mike Wallace talked about how the history of today would be interpreted in the future and making history a vital piece of current education. He talked about the history of the preservation of public history in New York City and about his own career and the historical and public policy issues with which he had dealt.
Michael Wallace is the co-author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning bok Gotham: A History of New York City to 1898. Mike Wallace is a distinguished professor of history at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, part of the City University of New. York, where he founded the Gotham Center for New York City History. His most recent book, A New Deal for New York, examines the future of post-September 11 New York City in the light of its past.
