Frank Mankiewicz spoke about his career and experiences in public service. He is vice chairman of Hill & Knowlton’s Washington, D.C. office. Hill & Knowlton is a public relations firm based in New York. He joined the firm’s predecessor in 1983 after being president of National Public Radio. He was press secretary to Senator Robert Kennedy and directed the 1972 presidential campaign of George McGovern. In the 1960s, he was the Peace Corps' regional director for Latin America. He is the author of four books. Mr. Mankiewicz reacted to the audio recording, shown with still pictures, of a May 28, 1964, telephone conversation between President Lyndon Johnson and Attorney General Robert Kennedy. He reacted to video clips of Walter Cronkite on the CBS News on February 27, 1968; himself announcing the death of presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy on June 6, 1968; and Senator Ted Kennedy and former Senator George McGovern roasting him on September 12, 2004. Various pictures were shown in the close
