Dana Canedy talked about her book A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor (Crown; December 30, 2008). In 2005, First Sergeant Charles Monroe King began to write what would become a two-hundred-page journal for his son in case he did not make it home from the war in Iraq. Charles King, forty-eight, was killed on October 14, 2006, when his son, Jordan, was seven months old. Jordan’s mother, Dana Canedy, used this journal in her memoir about her relationship with her fiancé and her grief. She talked about how she came to write the book and read some passages from the book before responding to questions from members of the audience.
