Democrats held a gala to celebrate Al From’s contribution and legacy. After founding the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) nearly a quarter century ago, Al From retired as the DLC’s chief executive offier, handing the office to Bruce Reed, former domestic policy adviser in the Clinton administration. A tribute video was shown and speakers, including former President Bill Clinton, former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, reflected on his career and the successes of the Democratic Party.
