Hillsdale is a private, liberal arts college with approximately 1,350 students that does not accept state or federal funding. The college was founded 165 years ago in Hillsdale, Michigan, in the south-central section of the state, about 100 miles from Detroit. Mr. Arnn has been the 12th president of the college since May of 2000. As president, Mr. Arnn oversees the college’s $608 million endowment. Previously he was president of The Claremount Institute in California. In the late 1970s, he studied in England and was director of research for Sir Martin Gilbert, the official biographer of Winston Churchill.
