Colbert King is a Pulitzer Prize winning columnist and former Deputy Editorial Page Editor of the Washington Post. He spoke about his life, career, experiences and interest in politics. He also spoke about being a native of Washington, DC, and different worlds of residents and politicians within the city. Mr. King's career includes Minority staff director of the Senate Committee on the District of Columbia in the mid-70s where he assisted in drafting the Home Rule Act. He was a Deputy Assistant Treasury Department Secretary and U.S. Executive Director to the World Bank. He spent ten years as a vice president at Riggs Bank. He joined the editorial board of the Washington Post in 1990. Since 1995 he has written a weekly column for the newspaper. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 2003.
