Richard Holbrooke, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, testified about the need to engage Pakistan on regional security issues and asked Congress to approve pending legislation to provide Pakistan with billions of dollars in military and non-military aid. He also talked about growing threats from Taliban forces in Pakistan, and U.S. strategy for Afghanistan and the region generally.
