Michael Signer spoke about his book, Demagogue: The Fight to Save Democracy from It's Worst Enemies (Palgrave Macmillan; February 3, 2009). He talked about the concept of "demagogues", the research that went into his book, and the implications of demagogues in contemporary society. He was interviewed at the 2009 Virginia Festival of the Book in Charlottesville, Virginia. Michael Signer is a senior national security policy fellow at Third Way and a senior policy advisor at the Center for American Progress. Mr. Signer was John Edwards' foreign policy advisor for his 2008 presidential campaign. He also served as deputy counselor to former Virginia governor Mark Warner.
