Wev Shea spoke about the trial and conviction of Former Senator Ted Stevens on corruption and fraud charges. He was critical of prosecutors who had allegedly withheld evidence and misled the court in the proceedings. He also spoke about Alaska politics and the degree to which money and currying favors was part of the political culture in the state.

On April 1, 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder decided to withdraw the indictment against Senator Stevens. The decision effectively voided his conviction October 27, 2008 on seven counts of filing false statements on his Senate financial-disclosure forms. close
