Matthew Helm talked about one of the middle school section third prize-winning videos, Environmental Crisis: Should We Drill in Alaska?, that he produced with Benny Richmond, a fellow 8th-grade student at Lora L. Batchelor Middle School in Bloomington, Indiana. He was interviewed via Skype video from the C-SPAN newsroom.

C-SPAN Classroom’s StudentCam video documentary contest was a national competition in which middle and high school students produced a documentary exploring an issue of national significance that they believe is in need of urgent attention from the new president of the United States using some C-SPAN footage and covering multiple viewpoints. The local cable company was Comcast.
