John Mather, a 2006 co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, is a senior project scientist on the James Webb Space Telescope project. He is based at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center where he is a senior astrophysicist in the Observational Cosmology Laboratory. He is also an adjunct professor in physics at the University of Maryland.
