Linda Bourque and Dennis Mileti presented their National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terror report on Public Response to Terrorism at the National Press Club. The report surveyed public readiness for terrorist and other hazardous events, how public education and information influence public investment in both preparedness and avoidance activities, and ways in which policy and programs can increase and enhance readiness. They were joined in discussion by officials of the Department of Homeland Security.
