Governor Zell Miller (D-GA) delivered the keynote address during the first evening of proceedings in the 1992 Democratic National Convention in New York. Governor Miller lambasted the Bush administration’s performance in office, repeating “George Bush doesn’t get it!” during his remarks on issues including crime, education, health care, and the economy. He also dismissed independent undeclared candidate Ross Perot as a wealthy insider, and called for the election of the 1992 Democratic presidential ticket of Governor Bill Clinton and Senator Albert Gore. close
