Home Box Office and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies co-sponsored a forum on the political views of African-Americans regarding the 1992 presidential elections. The forum accompanied the release of a survey conducted in June by HBO and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies on the presidential preferences of African-Americans. The nationwide poll of 750 African-Americans found that 43 percent favored Democratic candidate Gov. Bill Clinton, with 31 percent either undecided or choosing none of the major candidates. Speakers in the forum addressed political issues affecting African-Americans including civil rights and urban unrest. The speakers responded to questions from the audience following their prepared remarks. Audio difficulties occurred toward the end of the question and answer period for approximately one minute.
