During the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, better known as the Earth Summit, several representatives of international media outlets participated in a panel discussion on the presentation of environmental issues by the media. Media conglomerate owner Ted Turner chaired the panel, which was attended by a large audience. The panel members responded to questions from the audience following their prepared remarks.
