He spoke to the psychological ramification for America upon realizing it is no longer the largest economy in the world. Prof. Thurow pointed specifically to Japan’s success in R&D, investment, and labor development, and said he would advise the next President to compare Japan and the U.S. in these areas and do whatever it takes to close the gap. close
