Dr. Arnold Schecter and Admiral Elmo Zumwalt discussed the use of the defoliant Agent Orange in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The defoliant contained dioxins that have been associated with an increased rate of physical and mental handicaps in Vietnamese children in the area where it was sprayed and an increased rate of cancer in American veterans of the Vietnam War. Admiral Zumwalt attributed the death of his son, who had been a soldier in Vietnam during the war, to exposure to the defoliant Agent Orange. close
