While President Bush traveled up to Capitol Hill to deliver his annual State of the Union Address before a joint session of Congress, a number of New Hampshire Democrats were meeting in Franklin, New Hampshire, for a political forum sponsored by the New Hampshire Democratic Party. The event was entitled, “The Real State of the Union: A Wake Up Call to George Bush from New Hampshire.” The program was designed to call attention to New Hampshire’s economic problems and to detail how the recession is impacting the people of the Granite State. Some participants were not identified onscreen.
