Historian Joseph Persico talked about his book Franklin & Lucy: President Roosevelt, Mrs. Rutherford, and the Other Remarkable Women in His Life, and he responded to questions from the audience. The book examines the relationships between President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the women in his life, and profiles several women, including FDR’s mother and wife and details his romance with Lucy Mercer-Rutherford.

Joseph Persico is the author of numerous books, including Roosevelt’s Secret War. Mr. Persico was formerly a speechwriter for Governor and Vice President Nelson Rockefeller. close
